Popped down this evening to see the potatoes, already earthed up earlier on this week, making more bids for light. Another few weeks and we’ll be eating potatos morning noon and night. Also planted a few more broad beans, as the ones I’ve got in so far have been disappointing, and some carrots and leeks. And I know all our carrots have been disappointing, but I’m hoping that these will do well (hope against hope).

Oh, and I christened my new car with five bags of ‘stable manure’, which would be so much cheaper if we got it delivered straight from t’farm, but was easy to pick up from the garden centre tonight. I’ve dressed the raspberry canes and tried to get the grass away from them by covering up the mulch with fabric/plastic, but to be honest, i think Adam needs to get involved too…
